On a visit to Loughborough College Skills Minister, The Right Honourable Robert Halfon MP, (pictured centre) took time to break ground on its new East Midlands Institute of Technology facility. 
The EMIoT is a partnership between Loughborough College, Loughborough University, Derby College Group and the University of Derby; with the aim of delivering the very best in technical education. 
From September 2024 it will begin delivering the very best in technical education for students – from T-Levels through to postgraduate education - with high-quality training and qualifications in engineering, digital and professional construction. EMIoT will focus on skills for a green economy, future energy and leadership in those fields. 
The East Midlands Institute of Technology (EMIoT) is one of 21 Institutes of Technology across England, established by the Department for Education (DfE) to deliver world-class higher technical education. For further information on IoTs see website www.institutesoftechnology.org.uk
