Role – Project Manager (for business) 
 
 
What you’ll do – 
ultimate responsibility for all aspects of a project including the staff, costs, individual tasks and resources needed to accomplish it on time 
preparing plans and budgets 
assessing and ordering equipment, and resources needed for project 
regularly communicating with different people working on project (and with client/company who the project is being undertaken for) 
troubleshooting problems 
writing and keeping all paperwork related to the project 
dealing with legal and licensing issues. 
 
Average earnings – Varies greatly depending on size of project you’re managing (and industry) but starting salary of £36,000 to £58,000 quoted by online job boards.

Role – Chief of Staff (for business/organisation) 
 
What you’ll do – 
this is an upper management position within any business/organisation, overseeing all/most employees to help a business flourish 
oversees and coordinates projects right across the organisation, working with top executives 
serves as an advisor on ideas for an organisation’s future direction 
advises on issues affecting organisation 
reports and works with head of organisation/ Chief Executive Officer and /or Board  
coordinates announcements for the business, including press coverage, often acting as a spokesperson on these 
working with HR to deal with staffing issues. 
 
Average earnings – Varies greatly depending on size of business/organisation you work in, but starting salary of £55,000 to £70,000 quoted by job boards.

Role – Infrastructure Asset Manager 
 
 
What you’ll do – 
manage assets of your organisation; which (depending on sector you work in and size of your organisation) could be physical structures (buildings), stock or products, utilities (power lines or water pipes), transport systems (rail lines), digital networks and other resources 
develop schedule of maintenance and improvement to keep assets in working order 
lead employees maintaining those assets 
dealing with legal / licensing arrangements, including health and safety,  
troubleshoot problems as they arise 
keep up-to-date with new technical systems and legislative processes as these change. 
 
Average earnings – Varies greatly depending on size of asset portfolio you’re managing (and industry) but starting salary of £45,000 to £57,000 quoted by online job boards.
