monitor sub-contractors and stages of construction

Role - Setting Out Engineer
What you'll do -
help ensure construction project follows design specifications and building regulations
use surveying and mapping tools, including GPS
determine exactly where different parts of the construction go (foundations, walls and other structural elements) before construction begins
be responsible for health and safety.
Average earnings - Trainee salary of £20,000 to qualified start salary of £40,000 p.a quoted.

Role - Building Surveyor
What you'll do -
survey properties using range of high-tech surveying equipment
identify and report on damage and structural faults
write reports dealing with insurance or boundary dispute claims

Average earnings - Starting salary £25,000 to experienced £70,000 p.a.
