The East Midlands Institute of Technology attended the national 2025 conference of Institutes of Technology, in London. 
Over 150 delegates attended the event for England's 21 IoTs; held today (July 3rd) at the Central Hall Westminster, London. Attendees included IoT leaders, educators, business people and politicians. 
 
The theme of this year's IoTs conference was 'Boosting Opportunity, Skills & Growth Through Collaboration'. 
 
Speakers included Minister for Skills Baroness Jacqui Smith (via video link), Chair of Skills England Phil Smith, IBM Master Inventor and South Coast IoT Chair John McNamara; and Laurence Grafton, policy advisor at the Department for Business and Trade's Industrial Strategy Unit. The conference was MC-ed by engineer and professional speaker Yewande Akinola
 
Executive Director of the East Midlands IoT, Rachel Quinn, co-hosted a breakout session on green energy skills (pictured above) and was also a main stage panel member on engaging employers in skills provision. 
 
Rachel said: "We’ve made great strides this year; welcoming our first students last September, partnering with East Midlands Freeport to invest in sustainable energy training and completing our excellent new facilities for students at our partner colleges’ sites. 
 
“The East Midlands had a lot to talk about at the Conference.”
