East Midlands Institute of Technology - Budget 2025 statement:
Rachel Quinn, Executive Director of the East Midlands Institute of Technology, said: “It was good to hear the Chancellor spelling out Government commitment to ‘the success of Derby and the wider East Midlands’ and backing for the ‘Team Derby’ approach; commercial and public sector partners working together to maximise the impact of Government investment.
“The announcement that the East Midlands Mayoral Authority area will share (over four years) in a £902million Local Growth Fund – to invest in infrastructure, business, and employment support and skills programmes, to drive growth – was also very welcome.
“As an Institute we’ve invested in two state-of-the-art technology hubs in Derby, providing quality technical skills education, and work closely with businesses and public sector organisations across the region. We look forward to seeing how this increased investment will further drive skills development and productivity in the East Midlands.”
